    NEWS FROM..Chinchilla.

A lovely set of white Mass vestments has been donated to the parish of Chinchilla by David and Victoria Kiel of Kensington, Connecticut, USA in memory of their son, Thomas, who had arranged to attend Mass at Chinchilla on April 22nd of this year, on his way from Brisbane to Ayers Rock with the "Australian Motorcycle Adventures" tour. Tragically, Thomas, a gifted and distinguished surgeon and a committed Catholic never reached Chinchilla as he was killed in an accident west of Kilcoy on April 20th. Fr. Hickling was contacted by one of the Tour organisers and requested to speak with Thomas' parents, which he did. The vestments were presented to Mr. and Mrs. Kiel by Tom's friends at his funeral who then decided to give them to the Chinchilla parish. "These vestments," said Fr. Hichkling, "will be used regularly in memory of a devout Catholic surgeon, who even on holidays put Sunday Mass and the things of God first in his life. May the study of his life deepen our love for God and our appreciation for Sunday Mass."
