2006 Tree Lighting - Dec. 5, 2006

Cold but clear weather and good cheer prevailed at this year's tree lighting event. We were joined by groups of children from afterschool programs at the Harlem PAL and the Park Recreation Center. Kids and adults joined State Senator Bill Perkins in a countdown to the lighting. The Barnard College choral group Bacchantae performed and led the singing. Cookies, cider, candy canes, and hot chocolate were as popular as ever. The tree will remain lit every evening throughout the winter season.
