Join us for planting a butterfly garden and painting in the park.

Date: Saturday, May 14th
Time: 10:00am - 2:00pm
Place: Meet at Morningside Ave. and 114th St.

This year our projects include planting a butterfly garden in memory of one of our most beloved volunteers, Sarah Noel.

Before Sarah died in the Spring of 2003 she spent many volunteer hours in the park picking up trash and making our park clean and beautiful. She loved nature and was very concerned about protecting our plant and animal life.

Sarah was awarded the 2000 Morningside Park Volunteer of the Year as well as the 2001 NYC Parks and Recreation Volunteer of the Month. We miss her and see this as a great opportunity to beautify our park in her memory.

The Farmers Are Coming!

We are very excited to announce the first season of a Farmers' Market in our park. The Morningside Park Farmers’ Market will feature New York State grown fruits and vegetables, breads and pastries and pasture raised poultry, meats and eggs. The Morningside Park Farmers’ Market is committed to bringing fresh picked fruits and vegetables, specialty foods and a variety of local meats directly to shoppers in our communities.

The Farmers are Coming
Dates: Saturdays, June through November, beginning June 4th, 2005
Time: 9:00am - 5:00pm
Place: The plaza at the 110th St. and Manhattan Ave entrance to our park.

Hold The Date For A Special Farmers' Market Ribbon Cutting Celebration On June 18th at 10:00am.*

* Details to follow in an upcoming newsletter.

Our local NYC Council Member, Deputy Majority Leader Bill Perkins has been an instrumental backer of our efforts to make this market a reality. Our market also could not have happened without the generous financial support of Artimus Construction Inc.. The Market will be managed by Community Markets who is actively looking to hire a local site manager for the market. If you are interested in finding out more about this position, let us know.

Enjoy Spring in the Park!
