The Farmers Arrive This Saturday!

This Saturday, June 4th, marks the first day of our Farmers' Market which will run through November 19th. Check out the details below. Please do stop by to pick up farm fresh fruits, vegetables, breads, cheese, and pasture-raised poultry and meats. It's not too late to help us advertise the market. Download our flyer and post it in your building!

The Farmers are Coming
Dates: Saturdays, June through November, beginning June 4th, 2005
Time: 9:00am - 5:00pm
Place: The plaza at the 110th St. and Manhattan Ave entrance to our park.

Note: We will be having a special Ribbon Cutting Celebration at the market on Saturday, June 18th at 10:00am. The celebration will feature live music and entertainment.

Bring Your Family To Our June Potluck Picnic In The Park!

picnic This month we're making our monthly meeting a fun gathering for the whole family. We'll be gathering in one of our favorite places - the park! Bring a dish for the potluck and join us. Besides enjoying good food in the park, you'll have a chance to meet our new board members, tell us about your concerns and hopes for the park, and hear about our Volunteer Corps. an exciting new initiative to help maintain and beautify our park. Here are the details:

Event: Potluck Picnic In The Park
Date: Thursday, June 9th
Time: 6:30pm
Place: On the North Lawn - just inside the park at 121st Street and Manhattan Ave.*
*if it's raining we will meet at the Church of the Master
85 Morningside Avenue (at 122nd Street)
What to Bring: Bring either a main course, salad or dessert. Juice, soda and snacks will be provided.

Announcing Our New Board And Officers

Our board elections were held at our last monthly meeting and the new board met shortly thereafter to elect its officers. We are extremely happy that the new board brings together some of our outstanding newer volunteers as well as retaining members with long standing knowledge and experience with the organization.

Tour De Cure Cycling Event To Take Place In Morningside Park

Tour De CureTour de Cure, the American Diabetes Association's premier cycling event is an exciting fundraiser that allows avid and recreational cyclists the opportunity to raise money for diabetes research and education. On June 12, 2005 the NYC event starts and ends in our park. Groups of riders will be starting at 7:30, 8:30 and 9:30am. Come down to the South end of our park to lend your support and cheer them on. Summer Concert Series Kicks Off June 18th

This year we continue a Summer tradition in our park. Join us for these free concerts for the whole family. We will be presenting a wide range of musical performers and traditions.

Dates: Saturdays, June 18th, July 16th, July 23rd, & August 13th
Time: 6:00pm – 7:30pm
