How do I report a rat problem in the park?

Report rat sightings through the NYC 311 system. There is a special page for reporting rats in parks.

 

How do I report a light out in the Park?

Report light outages by calling 311 or by reporting it online at the Department of Transportation's website

How do I report poison ivy growing in the Park?

You can report poison ivy growing in a park or City tree, on school property, or on private property.

I want to have a group event in Morningside Park. Do I need a permit? 

Yes, if more than 20 people are expected to attend, you will need a special events permit from the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation. Please visit our Special Events Permits and Applications page for more information.

What are the rules regarding dogs in NYC Parks?

Enjoy Morningside Park with your dog, but remember to keep your pup leashed at all times, other than at off-leash Dog Run near 114th (above the pond).

LET'S CONNECT

Friends of Morningside Park advocates for the maintenance and improvement of the Park by raising funds, coordinating volunteers, and offering programs for the community.

 

We promote the enjoyment and responsible use of the park through an extensive set of programs which over the years have included arts and cultural festivals, a farmers market, film screenings, public art displays, musical and theatrical performances, sports tournaments, community picnics, park cleanups and plantings, tree lightings and holiday events.
