ACTION NEEDED! No More Funding Cuts to Parks

Writer's picture: Friends of Morningside ParkFriends of Morningside Park

We're not ones to forward emails but sometimes exceptions must be made and this message from City Parks Foundation meets that high bar. As you may have heard in recent days, new budget cuts and further hiring freezes pose to cripple the parks department in the coming year, affecting the green spaces we all hold so dear. We are already feeling the squeeze in Morningside Park, losing Parks employees and spreading those we do have thinner, amongst multiple Harlem parks. And while Friends of Morningside Park will do all we can to continue to support Morningside Park, Parks staff and the overall NYC Parks Department, we also ask you to join us in demanding more from the top. Hold Mayor Adams to his pledge of 1% of the annual budget to NYC Parks and #nocutstoparks.
